1. Bank Remittance
The buyer goes to a bank (or post office) in person, fills out a remittance form and hands the cash to the teller. To send a remittance, you need the seller's name, bank name, branch name and account number. If anything is unclear, you can ask the teller.
A remittance means filling out the form by hand, which is a little more hassle, and the fee is higher than for a transfer. However, if you accidentally fill in the seller's account details incorrectly, the payment cannot be sent, which avoids the risk of paying into the wrong account and any later disputes.
2. ATM Transfer
You can transfer money to another bank account at an ATM that supports interbank transfers. First, you need a bank (ATM) card. Once you have the seller's bank name (which you can use to look up its 3-digit bank code) and account number, follow the on-screen instructions at the ATM to make the transfer. Of course, be sure to keep the transaction receipt as proof that you have paid into the seller's account.
Transfers within the same bank (where both accounts and the ATM all belong to the same bank) are usually free of charge (the post office charges NT$7), but most banks charge a NT$17 fee for interbank transfers.
