Item description
When did you last wash your pillow? We mean the pillow itself, not the pillowcase.
- Pillow turned yellow, gone flat or starting to smell? Don't throw it out yet; send it for cleaning first.
- Your pillow spends 8 hours with you every night. How long has it been since it was really washed?
Most people wash their pillowcase once a week, but what about the pillow inside? Many people never wash it even once after buying it.
Every night, sweat, skin oils and scalp oils pass through the pillowcase and slowly soak into the filling. Over time the pillow develops yellow stains and a musty smell, and it feels flatter and flatter. That doesn't mean it is old; it means it is dirty. The inside of a pillow is warm and damp, exactly the kind of place dust mites and bacteria like, and that matters most for adults and children with allergies or asthma.
Why Not Just Put It in Your Washing Machine?
Washing a pillow in a home machine usually ends in one of three ways:
- It doesn't get clean all the way through. Once the pillow is soaked, a home machine's water flow can't get through the filling. Detergent stays inside, and the more you wash, the mustier it gets.
- It doesn't dry. Even a little moisture left inside the filling leads to mildew and odors, which is worse than not washing it at all.
- It gets ruined. The filling clumps, shifts and loses its support. Down pillows in particular can be ruined in a single wash.
Professional cleaning uses large-capacity commercial equipment, chooses the detergent and water temperature to suit the pillow's material, and allows enough drying time for the filling to dry completely and fluff back up.
How We Clean It
The yellow stains on a pillow are mainly a buildup of oxidized skin oils and protein stains, which ordinary detergent can't remove. We treat each pillow according to the type of stain and the filling:
- Inspect and sort: we check the material (down, feather, polyester fiber, latex or memory foam) and how dirty it is, and decide how to treat it. If a latex pillow has started to crumble, it can't be washed; washing will only make it worse. If you insist on washing it anyway, we can't compensate for the damage >"<
- Pre-treatment: yellow stains and sweat stains are pre-treated with a dedicated detergent.
- Main wash: large-capacity commercial washers, with the water temperature and wash cycle set for the material, to clean the filling thoroughly.
- Full drying: long, low-temperature drying until the filling is completely dry, which also restores its loft.
- Check and pack: once we have confirmed it is dry and fluffy, the pillow is packed clean and returned.
How Each Type of Pillow Is Handled
| Pillow type | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| Polyester fiber | Washable. The key is washing and drying it all the way through so it fluffs back up. If the filling has already started to clump, that is a physical change: it may look slightly more noticeable after washing, and the clumps usually do not loosen. |
| Down / feather | Dedicated wash cycle plus long, low-temperature drying to prevent clumping and protect the down clusters. |
| Latex | Cannot be machine washed or tumble dried; mainly surface cleaning. |
| Memory foam | Cannot be washed in water; handled with cleaning and care methods instead. |
How Often Should You Wash It?
- Regular fiber pillows: every 3–6 months is recommended.
- Down pillows: every 6–12 months is recommended.
- If someone at home has allergies or asthma, or you have children: wash more often.
A good pillow can easily cost more than a thousand NT dollars. Regular cleaning extends its life and costs far less than buying a new one once it is ruined.
FAQ
Q: Can the yellow stains come out? Most yellow stains are caused by oxidized sweat and skin oils, and dedicated pre-treatment usually improves them noticeably. Old stains that have oxidized for a long time and soaked deep into the fibers may not come out completely; we explain what to expect at pickup.
Q: Will it go flat after washing? Quite the opposite. Pillows usually go flat because dirt and moisture make the filling tangle. After professional washing and thorough drying, the loft usually comes back noticeably.
Q: How long does it take? Usually 5–7 working days (we will let you know if it takes longer in peak season).
Q: How do I send it in? Drop it off at the shop, use our 24-hour smart locker, or book door-to-door pickup & delivery via LINE.
- Let your pillow feel as fluffy as the day you bought it, starting tonight.
- Before you store pillows away for the season, have them cleaned first, so they don't smell when you take them out next year.
- Haven't washed your pillows in over six months? Take a photo and send it to us on LINE for a free assessment.
How long has it been since you washed the pillow itself? 🛏️
A pillowcase can't stop sweat and skin oils. Yellow stains, mustiness and dust mites build up in the filling day after day. A yellow, flat pillow isn't old; it's dirty.
A home washing machine can't wash it through or dry it fully, and often leaves it moldy and clumped. Leave it to EN Laundry: we clean it with commercial equipment suited to the material and dry it completely, and the loft usually improves noticeably.

Read Before Ordering: Care Notes & TermsTap to expand
Thank you for trusting us. To make sure your clothes and valuables get proper care and to protect both sides, please read the following notes carefully before sending items for cleaning:
1. Please check before sending items (basis of our disclaimer)
Empty all pockets:Please check pockets carefully before handing over items. We are not responsible for storing or compensating for cash, IDs, jewelry, earphones, receipts or other valuables left behind. If we find anything, we will keep it safe and return it, but please check to avoid unnecessary disputes.
Tell us about existing flaws:If a garment already has tears, loose seams, dye stains, fading, loose buttons, heavy yellowing or moth holes, please tell the counter staff when you drop it off, or let us know on LINE.
Valuable or high-end items (e.g. Chanel/Hermès bags, high-end leather, tailored suits): we recommend our premium care service (Luxury Item Care). Please check the item's current condition together with our staff in store or discuss it online (e.g. leather wear, oxidized hardware), and have it noted on the cleaning ticket.
2. Cleaning and stain removal results (reasonable expectations)
About difficult stains:For sweat, blood, ink, juice, paint, old yellow stains or mildew, we do our best with professional enzymes and stain removers on the affected area. If a stain is very old, or the fibers have already deteriorated or taken on the color, we cannot promise it will come out completely.
Special materials:
- Unstable or non-colorfast dyes: if a garment's dye is not colorfast, it may fade slightly after cleaning.
- Coatings / PU faux leather / waterproof seam tape: these materials have a limited lifespan (usually 2–3 years) and may peel or lose seam tape during cleaning due to hydrolysis and aging. If peeling has already started, it will usually get worse after cleaning, so please keep this in mind.
3. Storage of uncollected items
Collect on time:When your items are ready, we will send you a text message. Please collect them with your claim ticket within 30 days of the notice, or contact us to arrange delivery.
Late storage fee:From day 31, a storage fee of NT$10–20 per item per day applies to uncollected items (up to 3 months).
Abandonment of ownership:Items not collected more than 6 months after the notice date are considered abandoned by the customer. We may recycle, donate or otherwise dispose of them to free up storage space, and the customer may not object or claim compensation.
4. Checking items at pickup and handling disputes
Check on the spot:When collecting, please check on the spot that the number of items and accessories (e.g. belts, fur collars, liners) are complete, and check the cleaning quality.
Re-cleaning window:If you find an item not fully clean or poorly pressed, bring it back to the shop with your receipt within 3 days of pickup (with our laundry tag still attached and unworn), and we will redo it free of charge.
5. Compensation for loss or damage
We carry liability insurance. If a garment is seriously damaged, deformed or lost due to improper cleaning on our part, compensation follows the Ministry of Economic Affairs' "Mandatory and Prohibited Provisions for Standard Laundry Service Contracts":
- Regular garments: compensation is a multiple of the item's cleaning price (usually capped at 5 to 20 times, depending on depreciation).
- Valuable items without a declared value: if the value was not declared in advance and the item did not go through our premium care process, total compensation is capped (e.g. no more than NT$5,000–10,000).
Notes on Special Services
1. Down comforters / large bedding
Please check the bedding's care label when you buy it. Some natural silk and pure wool comforters are dry clean only or must not be washed. We never vacuum-compress animal fibers, to avoid physical damage to fibers and feather quills (down itself can be compressed).
2. Pet items
For hygiene, please remove loose hair and waste from pet clothing and beds before sending them in. We wash pet items separately using pet-specific disinfectant and dedicated machines, so you can send them with peace of mind.
