We know everyone hopes their clothes will come back looking much the same as before. But old yellow spots like the ones in these photos would be charged a high price at many laundries, or simply turned away.

We also want to be upfront with you: not every stain can be removed. Most of the time we can get more than 80% of the way there.

A dress like this one took four or five washes over several days to get back to a white base, and we worked in a way that was as gentle on the fabric as possible.

So it isn't as quick as the stories online, where a few drops of stain remover supposedly do the job.
