Cleaning Heavy Oil Stains on Suede Shoes

Heavy oil stains on suede are usually hard to treat, and some suede is also prone to fading.

That's because oil stains need a different approach from regular cleaning: scrubbing directly with ordinary detergent won't get them out.

As the photos show, after treatment the color didn't fade, and the black marks are no longer visible.

For other cleaners, or anyone who wants to try this themselves, our suggestion is to treat it in several rounds: treat one section, wash it off first, and repeat a few times.

That way you won't spread the oil to other areas, which would leave a bigger, faint grayish patch.
