While trying to clean a stain, this customer followed a method they found online and scrubbed it with toothpaste. When that didn't seem to do much, they scrubbed it with alcohol and laundry detergent. That still didn't help, so they kept rubbing by hand, and ended up with several long streaks of white fading.

We told them there would definitely be some color difference, though it might not be very noticeable to the naked eye. Color touch-ups can usually only be done once all the other work on the garment is finished.

So if you run into a stain you're not sure how to handle, just send it in for cleaning. It doesn't cost much, saves you time, and gives you peace of mind.

FAQ

Q: Do alcohol and toothpaste really work?

These home remedies are usually shown on white clothes, or filmed from very clever angles. I've even seen a demo video where the fabric had clearly faded, yet they still posted it as a tutorial. Maybe they figured that since they'd already filmed it, it would be a waste not to post it.
