What to Do About a Moldy Car Seat Cushion

For mold on a car seat cushion, we start by treating the affected spots. These spots can't be scrubbed off, which is different from mold on leather. The mold threads usually grow out from inside the cushion, so first we have to loosen the bond between the mold and the fibers. Then we keep treating the spots until no black mold is visible on the surface. (At that point the mold isn't necessarily gone; it just can't be seen on the surface.)

After cleaning, we apply an anti-mold, antibacterial treatment to the whole cushion to protect it, so it doesn't quickly get moldy again without you noticing and affect your child.

You can also do this yourself at home, but never use chlorine bleach. Besides fading the fabric, it can affect your child's respiratory health. Leaving it to us is a lot easier; we just charge for the labor. Let us take some of the load off your family.

Stubborn stain on a baby seat pad
This is probably a milk stain. Regular washing didn't remove it, and scrubbing would cause pilling, so we treated the spot with ultrasonic cleaning.
