Yellowed leather sandals before and after restoration

Rescuing Yellowed Leather Sandals

These leather sandals hadn't been worn for a long time and had turned yellow, with a hard, crusty yellow stain (front left in the photo).

Because they're leather, they can't be soaked to soften the stain. Instead, we soaked cotton pads in glycerin and laid them on the area for a while. Once the surface had softened, we gently removed the stain.

Finally, we supported the sandals from the inside and lightly pressed them to restore their structured shape, then recolored them.

Now they can be worn for quite a while longer.
