Luxury Down Jackets: Professional Assessment and Care
We Handle These Differently, and the Reason Isn't Technique
Our position on regular down jackets is clear: most care labels recommend dry cleaning, but dry-cleaning solvents can't remove sweat stains and odors from the cuffs and collar, can't clean the down inside, and strip the water-repellent finish from the outer fabric.
The same physics applies to luxury down jackets, but there is one more factor you need to know about: the brand's warranty conditions.
Some high-end brands explicitly require cleaning by a reputable dry cleaner, prohibit machine washing, and state that machine washing voids the warranty. If the jacket has a detachable fur collar, it must be removed before dry cleaning.
In other words, for some brands, simply choosing wet cleaning may affect your warranty rights, regardless of how well the jacket is cleaned.
Our Approach: Assess First, Explain, Then You Decide
We never choose a cleaning method without your knowledge. Here is our intake process:
- Identify and record
We confirm the brand, model, season, care-label symbols and fill label, and photograph the whole jacket from several angles for our records, including existing flaws, loose stitching, stains and the condition of any fur collar. - Check the warranty conditions
We compare against the brand's current official care terms and read the care-label symbols: P or F inside a circle means it can be dry cleaned; W inside a circle means professional wet cleaning is allowed. - Recommendation and risk explanation
We tell you the recommended method, the expected results, any possible effect on the warranty, and what can't be achieved. - We start only after you confirm
Two Cleaning Routes
Route A: Professional wet cleaning (the care label shows W, or you choose it after understanding the effect on the warranty)
Better cleaning results: it really removes sweat stains, skin oils and odors. The process is the same as our regular down care, but the jacket is handled individually by one person from start to finish:
- The collar and cuffs, the dirtiest areas, are brushed with a dedicated detergent
- Washed alone, at low temperature, on a long, gentle cycle
- Rinsed in several stages until no residue remains; this is the key to getting the loft back
- Spun at medium speed (high speed makes the down clump; low speed doesn't remove enough water)
- Taken out every 20–30 minutes during drying, with the down pushed apart and patted along each baffle
- Detachable fur collars are always removed and treated separately
Route B: Dry cleaning plus local water-based treatment (the care label has no W, or you choose to keep the warranty)
Cleaned in a hydrocarbon solvent (F) system, which is gentler on fibers. We also pre-treat the collar, cuffs and pocket edges with a water-based treatment to make up for dry cleaning's weakness on water-soluble stains.
To be honest with you, this route cleans less thoroughly than Route A. The down inside can't be fully cleaned, and deep odors may not be removed completely. This is a limit of the method itself, not of the quality of our work.
With both routes, we check the DWR (durable water repellent) finish and quote for reinforcing it if needed.
What We Don't Do
- Decide the cleaning method without your confirmation
- Wash your jacket in the same machine as other clothes
- Promise what we can't deliver, such as old oxidized yellow stains never coming back after removal, damaged outer fabric being fully restored, or any brand's warranty remaining valid
Please Provide Before Sending
- Proof of purchase or warranty documents (if you have them; they help us check the terms)
- Any known cleaning history and past incidents
- Your priority for the result: cleanliness first, or keeping the warranty intact
Please Be Sure to Tell Us About
- Real fur collars (the type, and whether they detach)
- Leather panels, metal logos or specially coated outer fabric
- Existing holes, down leaks or loose stitching
- Problems that appeared after another shop cleaned it

Read Before Ordering: Care Notes & TermsTap to expand
Thank you for trusting us. To make sure your clothes and valuables get proper care and to protect both sides, please read the following notes carefully before sending items for cleaning:
1. Please check before sending items (basis of our disclaimer)
Empty all pockets:Please check pockets carefully before handing over items. We are not responsible for storing or compensating for cash, IDs, jewelry, earphones, receipts or other valuables left behind. If we find anything, we will keep it safe and return it, but please check to avoid unnecessary disputes.
Tell us about existing flaws:If a garment already has tears, loose seams, dye stains, fading, loose buttons, heavy yellowing or moth holes, please tell the counter staff when you drop it off, or let us know on LINE.
Valuable or high-end items (e.g. Chanel/Hermès bags, high-end leather, tailored suits): we recommend our premium care service (Luxury Item Care). Please check the item's current condition together with our staff in store or discuss it online (e.g. leather wear, oxidized hardware), and have it noted on the cleaning ticket.
2. Cleaning and stain removal results (reasonable expectations)
About difficult stains:For sweat, blood, ink, juice, paint, old yellow stains or mildew, we do our best with professional enzymes and stain removers on the affected area. If a stain is very old, or the fibers have already deteriorated or taken on the color, we cannot promise it will come out completely.
Special materials:
- Unstable or non-colorfast dyes: if a garment's dye is not colorfast, it may fade slightly after cleaning.
- Coatings / PU faux leather / waterproof seam tape: these materials have a limited lifespan (usually 2–3 years) and may peel or lose seam tape during cleaning due to hydrolysis and aging. If peeling has already started, it will usually get worse after cleaning, so please keep this in mind.
3. Storage of uncollected items
Collect on time:When your items are ready, we will send you a text message. Please collect them with your claim ticket within 30 days of the notice, or contact us to arrange delivery.
Late storage fee:From day 31, a storage fee of NT$10–20 per item per day applies to uncollected items (up to 3 months).
Abandonment of ownership:Items not collected more than 6 months after the notice date are considered abandoned by the customer. We may recycle, donate or otherwise dispose of them to free up storage space, and the customer may not object or claim compensation.
4. Checking items at pickup and handling disputes
Check on the spot:When collecting, please check on the spot that the number of items and accessories (e.g. belts, fur collars, liners) are complete, and check the cleaning quality.
Re-cleaning window:If you find an item not fully clean or poorly pressed, bring it back to the shop with your receipt within 3 days of pickup (with our laundry tag still attached and unworn), and we will redo it free of charge.
5. Compensation for loss or damage
We carry liability insurance. If a garment is seriously damaged, deformed or lost due to improper cleaning on our part, compensation follows the Ministry of Economic Affairs' "Mandatory and Prohibited Provisions for Standard Laundry Service Contracts":
- Regular garments: compensation is a multiple of the item's cleaning price (usually capped at 5 to 20 times, depending on depreciation).
- Valuable items without a declared value: if the value was not declared in advance and the item did not go through our premium care process, total compensation is capped (e.g. no more than NT$5,000–10,000).
Notes on Special Services
1. Down comforters / large bedding
Please check the bedding's care label when you buy it. Some natural silk and pure wool comforters are dry clean only or must not be washed. We never vacuum-compress animal fibers, to avoid physical damage to fibers and feather quills (down itself can be compressed).
2. Pet items
For hygiene, please remove loose hair and waste from pet clothing and beds before sending them in. We wash pet items separately using pet-specific disinfectant and dedicated machines, so you can send them with peace of mind.
