Luxury Clothing Care: FAQ
Trust and Responsibility
Q: What happens if something gets damaged? How is compensation handled?
Our working principle is to prevent accidents as far as we can: at pickup we inspect every item one by one, photograph it for our records, tell you about any risks first, and only start work after you confirm.
But we should be honest: some damage comes from the limits of the material itself, not from the cleaning process. Examples include aged fusible interlining that bubbles, silk that has turned brittle where there were sweat stains and then tears, and adhesive layers that peel after their service life. We try to spot these at pickup and photograph them beforehand. For anything we couldn't detect in advance, we show you our full work records and the basis for our judgment.
Compensation follows the standard-form laundry service contract issued by the Taiwan government.
Q: Why should I choose you over my current cleaner?
Not because of sales talk, but because of three things: we can name the risks at pickup, explain the method and its limits before we start, and show you the records afterward.
If you're comparing, the practical way to check is to send one less important item first. We'll give you a full explanation of how we handled it, and you can judge for yourself whether our assessment was accurate.
Q: Will my clothes be washed with other people's?
No. Luxury items are always handled individually and never share a machine with any other clothes.
Warranties
Q: Will cleaning affect the manufacturer's warranty?
For some brands, yes. We know of a down brand that explicitly requires cleaning by a reputable dry cleaner, prohibits machine washing, and states that machine washing voids the warranty.
So at pickup we check the brand's current care terms and lay out the two options, cleaning results versus keeping the warranty intact, for you to decide. Terms change over the years; we go by the official version that is current when we check.
Q: So which should I choose?
It depends on how you use the garment.
If it's still under warranty and you may send it for repair: we suggest putting the warranty first and accepting the limits on cleaning results.
If the warranty has expired, or you don't plan to use the brand's repair service: we suggest putting cleaning results first, especially for down and technical items, because dry cleaning really can't clean the inside.
We won't decide for you, but we'll explain the real differences between the two clearly.
Brand Instructions and Methods
Q: The brand says dry clean only. Why do you recommend wet cleaning?
It depends on the item. We don't recommend wet cleaning for everything.
Down and technical jackets: dry-cleaning solvents are non-polar. They work on oily dirt, but the salt, urea and amino acids in sweat are water-soluble, so dry cleaning can't remove them, and the solvent also strips the water-repellent finish from the outer fabric. If the care label on these items shows the W symbol, we recommend professional wet cleaning.
Structured suits and coats: we recommend dry cleaning, and we say so plainly. These items contain chest canvas, shoulder pads and linings, and each layer shrinks at a different rate, so washing them in water makes the garment lose its shape. The fabric is open to discussion; the structure is not.
Q: What solvent do you use?
The P and F inside the circle on a care label stand for two dry-cleaning solvent systems. F is a hydrocarbon solvent; it is gentler on fiber structure and better preserves the material's strength and original feel.
For wool and luxury items, we use a professional wet-cleaning system, which is a safer and cleaner approach.
Q: Can I request a specific method?
Yes. If the brand specifies a procedure, or you have a preference from past experience, please tell us at pickup. If we think that method is risky for your item, we'll explain first and let you decide.
Expectations and Limits
Q: Can old yellow stains be removed?
We can't promise complete removal.
Yellow stains are mostly oxidized skin oil and sweat that has built up in the fibers, and the older they are, the harder they are to treat. If the fibers themselves have deteriorated, they can't be restored. We give the stains targeted treatment and explain the expected result when we assess the item.
For better results, send the item for cleaning soon after the stain appears rather than waiting until the end of the season.
Q: Another shop damaged it. Can you save it?
There are two kinds of cases:
Can be improved: flattened down (caused by detergent residue or clumping), slight deformation, some stains.
Irreversible: felted (shrunken) wool, lost sheen on luxury knits, bubbled fusible interlining, fibers melted together by high heat, brittle silk.
We tell you clearly which kind it is when we assess it, and we won't make promises we can't keep just to win the job.
Q: Why does it cost so much more than regular cleaning?
The difference comes from the actual work involved, not a brand premium:
each item is processed individually in its own machine, inspected and photographed at pickup, checked against warranty terms, assessed with the method explained to you, cleaned on a cycle suited to its material, and given extra time for drying and reshaping.
The assessment itself is free; after we quote, you decide whether to go ahead.
Q: How long does it take? Can you do a rush job?
It depends on the item, and it usually takes longer than regular cleaning.
We don't accept rush jobs that cut drying or reshaping time short.
Aftercare
Q: How often should it be cleaned?
The problem with most luxury clothing is being cleaned too often, not too little.
Suits and coats: once or twice a season is enough, and always before storing them at the end of the season. Day to day, just brush off surface dust with a soft clothes brush in the direction of the weave; this keeps dust from setting into stains later.
Down: once a season, and always before storing it.
Knitwear: depending on how often you wear it, usually less often than you'd expect.
Items worn next to the skin: wash after each wear.
Over-cleaning wears out high-end clothing more than sensible wear does.
Q: How should I store it after I get it back?
Woven jackets and coats: hang them on shaped or padded hangers, not thin wire hangers. Don't pack the wardrobe too tightly; leave room for creases to fall out naturally.
Knitwear: fold it and store it in a drawer; do not hang it (it slowly stretches under its own weight).
Down: avoid vacuum compression bags; use a breathable garment cover and keep it in a well-ventilated place.
For everything: always clean items before long-term storage to remove body oils and reduce the risk of moth damage, and keep them out of direct sunlight.

Read Before Ordering: Care Notes & TermsTap to expand
Thank you for trusting us. To make sure your clothes and valuables get proper care and to protect both sides, please read the following notes carefully before sending items for cleaning:
1. Please check before sending items (basis of our disclaimer)
Empty all pockets:Please check pockets carefully before handing over items. We are not responsible for storing or compensating for cash, IDs, jewelry, earphones, receipts or other valuables left behind. If we find anything, we will keep it safe and return it, but please check to avoid unnecessary disputes.
Tell us about existing flaws:If a garment already has tears, loose seams, dye stains, fading, loose buttons, heavy yellowing or moth holes, please tell the counter staff when you drop it off, or let us know on LINE.
Valuable or high-end items (e.g. Chanel/Hermès bags, high-end leather, tailored suits): we recommend our premium care service (Luxury Item Care). Please check the item's current condition together with our staff in store or discuss it online (e.g. leather wear, oxidized hardware), and have it noted on the cleaning ticket.
2. Cleaning and stain removal results (reasonable expectations)
About difficult stains:For sweat, blood, ink, juice, paint, old yellow stains or mildew, we do our best with professional enzymes and stain removers on the affected area. If a stain is very old, or the fibers have already deteriorated or taken on the color, we cannot promise it will come out completely.
Special materials:
- Unstable or non-colorfast dyes: if a garment's dye is not colorfast, it may fade slightly after cleaning.
- Coatings / PU faux leather / waterproof seam tape: these materials have a limited lifespan (usually 2–3 years) and may peel or lose seam tape during cleaning due to hydrolysis and aging. If peeling has already started, it will usually get worse after cleaning, so please keep this in mind.
3. Storage of uncollected items
Collect on time:When your items are ready, we will send you a text message. Please collect them with your claim ticket within 30 days of the notice, or contact us to arrange delivery.
Late storage fee:From day 31, a storage fee of NT$10–20 per item per day applies to uncollected items (up to 3 months).
Abandonment of ownership:Items not collected more than 6 months after the notice date are considered abandoned by the customer. We may recycle, donate or otherwise dispose of them to free up storage space, and the customer may not object or claim compensation.
4. Checking items at pickup and handling disputes
Check on the spot:When collecting, please check on the spot that the number of items and accessories (e.g. belts, fur collars, liners) are complete, and check the cleaning quality.
Re-cleaning window:If you find an item not fully clean or poorly pressed, bring it back to the shop with your receipt within 3 days of pickup (with our laundry tag still attached and unworn), and we will redo it free of charge.
5. Compensation for loss or damage
We carry liability insurance. If a garment is seriously damaged, deformed or lost due to improper cleaning on our part, compensation follows the Ministry of Economic Affairs' "Mandatory and Prohibited Provisions for Standard Laundry Service Contracts":
- Regular garments: compensation is a multiple of the item's cleaning price (usually capped at 5 to 20 times, depending on depreciation).
- Valuable items without a declared value: if the value was not declared in advance and the item did not go through our premium care process, total compensation is capped (e.g. no more than NT$5,000–10,000).
Notes on Special Services
1. Down comforters / large bedding
Please check the bedding's care label when you buy it. Some natural silk and pure wool comforters are dry clean only or must not be washed. We never vacuum-compress animal fibers, to avoid physical damage to fibers and feather quills (down itself can be compressed).
2. Pet items
For hygiene, please remove loose hair and waste from pet clothing and beds before sending them in. We wash pet items separately using pet-specific disinfectant and dedicated machines, so you can send them with peace of mind.
