Item description

Suit Jackets: Careful Care and Shaped Pressing

A Suit Jacket's Value Is in Its Structure, Not Just the Fabric

Inside a suit jacket are the chest piece, canvas interlining, sleeve heads, shoulder pads, lining and pocket bags, and each layer shrinks at a different rate. If temperature or mechanical action gets out of control during cleaning, the layers distort by different amounts. The result: the fabric is fine, but the jacket has lost its shape.

A collar that won't lie flat, rippled lapels, collapsed shoulders, sleeve heads that have lost their curve: none of these mean the jacket wasn't cleaned properly. They mean the structure has shifted, and most of it cannot be undone.

That is why our focus is on pressing, not just cleaning.

Why Suit Jackets Should Not Be Washed in Water

Some say wool is better washed in water. That makes sense for single-layer knits, but it does not apply to structured suits at all:

  • The chest piece and canvas shrink in water, and the front loses its three-dimensional curve
  • Shoulder pads and sleeve-head padding cannot recover once deformed
  • The lining and outer fabric shrink at different rates, so the lining shows or the outer fabric puckers
  • Fused interlining (used in most low- to mid-priced jackets) loses its adhesive in water, causing bubbling on the surface

Take special note of the last point: bubbling from fused interlining cannot be repaired.

Which Solvent We Use

The P and F inside the circle on a care label stand for two dry-cleaning solvent systems. F is a hydrocarbon solvent. It is gentler on fiber structure and better preserves the material's strength and original feel.

We use the F system for wool suit jackets, and at pickup we check whether buttons need to be removed or covered for protection.

Dry Cleaning Has Limits, and We Will Tell You Honestly

Dry-cleaning solvent is non-polar. It works on oily soil, but the salt, urea and amino acids in sweat are water-soluble, and dry cleaning cannot remove them. This is why a dry-cleaned jacket can look clean, yet after a season in storage the inside of the collar and the underarms show yellow spots and stiffness.

So we always add a water-based spot pre-treatment to the collar, cuffs and underarms, rather than relying on the dry-cleaning process alone.

Shaped Pressing: Where the Price Difference Lies

We press each area separately instead of finishing the jacket in a single press:

  • Lapels and collar stand: shape the natural roll of the lapel without pressing a hard crease
  • Shoulders and sleeve heads: restore the rounded shape; sleeve heads are never pressed flat
  • Front chest: keep the curve formed by the chest piece
  • Pockets and vents: pressed flat in place, never turned out

Temperature is controlled throughout: the iron stays at about 110°C at most, with no direct steam contact. Fabrics with a nap are pressed from top to bottom in the direction of the nap.

Please Tell Us Before Sending

  • Full-canvas or half-canvas tailored suits (handled differently from ready-to-wear)
  • Cashmere, camel hair, linen or silk blends
  • Velvet, shawl collars or satin collars (never pressed directly)
  • Special buttons (shell, horn or covered buttons)
  • Areas that already have shine, moth holes or repairs
  • Any known bubbling or separation of fused interlining
  • For a matching suit, please send the whole suit (cleaning only the jacket will make the jacket and pants differ in shade)

Why Sending the Whole Suit Matters

Even if only the jacket is dirty, we still recommend cleaning the whole suit together. Each cleaning removes a tiny amount of dye, so over time a piece cleaned on its own will differ in color from the other, and that difference cannot be corrected later.

Storing It After Pickup

  • Hang it on a shaped or wide-shoulder hanger, not a thin wire hanger
  • Don't pack the closet too tightly; leave room for wrinkles to fall out naturally
  • After wearing, brush off surface dust with a soft clothes brush along the grain, so it doesn't set into stains later
  • Always clean it before long-term storage to remove body oils and reduce the risk of moths
  • Avoid wire hangers, which cause creases and distortion
  • Don't send it for cleaning after every wear: over-cleaning wears a suit more than normal wear does. For daily care, brushing and hanging it to air out is enough

Read Before Ordering: Care Notes & TermsTap to expand

Thank you for trusting us. To make sure your clothes and valuables get proper care and to protect both sides, please read the following notes carefully before sending items for cleaning:

1. Please check before sending items (basis of our disclaimer)

Empty all pockets:Please check pockets carefully before handing over items. We are not responsible for storing or compensating for cash, IDs, jewelry, earphones, receipts or other valuables left behind. If we find anything, we will keep it safe and return it, but please check to avoid unnecessary disputes.

Tell us about existing flaws:If a garment already has tears, loose seams, dye stains, fading, loose buttons, heavy yellowing or moth holes, please tell the counter staff when you drop it off, or let us know on LINE.

Valuable or high-end items (e.g. Chanel/Hermès bags, high-end leather, tailored suits): we recommend our premium care service (Luxury Item Care). Please check the item's current condition together with our staff in store or discuss it online (e.g. leather wear, oxidized hardware), and have it noted on the cleaning ticket.

2. Cleaning and stain removal results (reasonable expectations)

About difficult stains:For sweat, blood, ink, juice, paint, old yellow stains or mildew, we do our best with professional enzymes and stain removers on the affected area. If a stain is very old, or the fibers have already deteriorated or taken on the color, we cannot promise it will come out completely.

Special materials:

  • Unstable or non-colorfast dyes: if a garment's dye is not colorfast, it may fade slightly after cleaning.
  • Coatings / PU faux leather / waterproof seam tape: these materials have a limited lifespan (usually 2–3 years) and may peel or lose seam tape during cleaning due to hydrolysis and aging. If peeling has already started, it will usually get worse after cleaning, so please keep this in mind.

3. Storage of uncollected items

Collect on time:When your items are ready, we will send you a text message. Please collect them with your claim ticket within 30 days of the notice, or contact us to arrange delivery.

Late storage fee:From day 31, a storage fee of NT$10–20 per item per day applies to uncollected items (up to 3 months).

Abandonment of ownership:Items not collected more than 6 months after the notice date are considered abandoned by the customer. We may recycle, donate or otherwise dispose of them to free up storage space, and the customer may not object or claim compensation.

4. Checking items at pickup and handling disputes

Check on the spot:When collecting, please check on the spot that the number of items and accessories (e.g. belts, fur collars, liners) are complete, and check the cleaning quality.

Re-cleaning window:If you find an item not fully clean or poorly pressed, bring it back to the shop with your receipt within 3 days of pickup (with our laundry tag still attached and unworn), and we will redo it free of charge.

5. Compensation for loss or damage

We carry liability insurance. If a garment is seriously damaged, deformed or lost due to improper cleaning on our part, compensation follows the Ministry of Economic Affairs' "Mandatory and Prohibited Provisions for Standard Laundry Service Contracts":

  • Regular garments: compensation is a multiple of the item's cleaning price (usually capped at 5 to 20 times, depending on depreciation).
  • Valuable items without a declared value: if the value was not declared in advance and the item did not go through our premium care process, total compensation is capped (e.g. no more than NT$5,000–10,000).

Notes on Special Services

1. Down comforters / large bedding
Please check the bedding's care label when you buy it. Some natural silk and pure wool comforters are dry clean only or must not be washed. We never vacuum-compress animal fibers, to avoid physical damage to fibers and feather quills (down itself can be compressed).

2. Pet items
For hygiene, please remove loose hair and waste from pet clothing and beds before sending them in. We wash pet items separately using pet-specific disinfectant and dedicated machines, so you can send them with peace of mind.
