Item description

Your Jacket Isn't Ruined: the Down Clusters Just Haven't Opened Up

Down keeps you warm through the three-dimensional, branching structure of its clusters. From each core, countless fine filaments spread outward, forming a framework that traps air. When a jacket comes out flat after washing, it usually means these clusters have stuck together in clumps, not that their structure has been destroyed. A common cause is detergent that wasn't fully rinsed out: leftover surfactant keeps the down from fully lofting.

This can be restored. We also accept jackets flattened by another cleaner for assessment.

Care Labels: We Read the Symbols, Not the Text

Most down jackets on the market today have a care label that says "dry clean recommended." But dry-cleaning solvent can't remove sweat and odor from cuffs and collars, doesn't clean the down inside, and strips the water-repellent finish from the outer fabric. International brands disagree on this: performance brands such as Patagonia recommend washing and state that none of their products need dry cleaning, while Canada Goose requires dry cleaning and prohibits machine washing, and doing otherwise voids the warranty.

We go by the symbols. On the newer care labels used since 2016, a P or F inside a circle means the item can be dry cleaned, and a W inside a circle means it can be professionally wet cleaned. Items with a W are washed in water. For items without a W, we confirm the method and the risks with you at pickup and never decide on our own.

Our Process

StepWhat we doWhy
Check at pickupPockets emptied, all zippers and fasteners closed, jacket turned inside outPrevents snagging and stops excessive twisting from damaging the down clusters during washing
Pre-treatmentCollar, cuffs and pocket edges scrubbed with a dedicated detergentCuffs and collar get especially dirty and need separate treatment
Wash cycleOne jacket per machine, front-loading drum, low temperature, neutral pH, long gentle wash
DetergentNeutral liquid, with no fabric softener, stain remover, optical brightener or bleachThese additives affect how the down performs
RinsingSeveral rinses, with an extra detergent-free cycle if neededRemoving all residue is the key to whether the down can loft again
SpinMedium speed, not too high and not too lowHigh speed clumps the down; low speed leaves too much water
Staged recoveryTaken out every 20–30 minutes during drying, then pushed apart and patted along each baffleDown gathers in one spot and has to be spread out along the whole baffle
Time neededLonger, and it can't be rushedDrying completely can take one to three hours, checking again and again until there are no clumps

What We Don't Do

  • If the care label says dry clean, we follow it, but water-based stains cannot be removed that way, so please take this into account
  • No washing with other clothes in the same machine
  • No top-loading agitator washing machines
  • No simple hang drying. Hang drying alone takes a long time and lets the down dry in clumps
  • Detachable fur collars are always removed and cleaned separately, never in the same machine as the jacket

Everyday Care After Pickup

  • After each wear, hang the jacket in a cool, shady place to let the moisture escape before putting it back in the closet, and avoid wearing it several days in a row
  • If down pokes through the fabric, don't pull it out, as that makes the hole bigger; pinch it from the inside and push it back in
  • Store it on a hanger rather than compressed for long periods; avoid vacuum storage bags and use a breathable garment bag in a well-ventilated place
  • Always clean it once before storing it for the season, and keep it out of direct sunlight

About the Add-ons

  • Express (within 3 days): currently +NT$200. We only hand back the jacket once the down is completely dry with no clumps. If the garment condition doesn't allow this, we will tell you first.
  • Multiple oil stains (3 or more), extra treatment: currently +NT$200, for several oil stains beyond the collar and cuffs.
  • Extra cleaning for heavy soiling: currently +NT$200, for jackets that haven't been washed in a long time and are visibly dirty all over.
  • Water-repellent treatment: currently +NT$600. A water-repellent finish is reapplied to the outer fabric after washing.

How Far Can Yellowing and Oil Stains on Down Jackets Be Treated?

Fresh oil stains are easier to treat. Old yellow stains that have oxidized can usually only be lightened, and we will tell you after seeing the jacket at pickup.

Read Before Ordering: Care Notes & TermsTap to expand

Thank you for trusting us. To make sure your clothes and valuables get proper care and to protect both sides, please read the following notes carefully before sending items for cleaning:

1. Please check before sending items (basis of our disclaimer)

Empty all pockets:Please check pockets carefully before handing over items. We are not responsible for storing or compensating for cash, IDs, jewelry, earphones, receipts or other valuables left behind. If we find anything, we will keep it safe and return it, but please check to avoid unnecessary disputes.

Tell us about existing flaws:If a garment already has tears, loose seams, dye stains, fading, loose buttons, heavy yellowing or moth holes, please tell the counter staff when you drop it off, or let us know on LINE.

Valuable or high-end items (e.g. Chanel/Hermès bags, high-end leather, tailored suits): we recommend our premium care service (Luxury Item Care). Please check the item's current condition together with our staff in store or discuss it online (e.g. leather wear, oxidized hardware), and have it noted on the cleaning ticket.

2. Cleaning and stain removal results (reasonable expectations)

About difficult stains:For sweat, blood, ink, juice, paint, old yellow stains or mildew, we do our best with professional enzymes and stain removers on the affected area. If a stain is very old, or the fibers have already deteriorated or taken on the color, we cannot promise it will come out completely.

Special materials:

  • Unstable or non-colorfast dyes: if a garment's dye is not colorfast, it may fade slightly after cleaning.
  • Coatings / PU faux leather / waterproof seam tape: these materials have a limited lifespan (usually 2–3 years) and may peel or lose seam tape during cleaning due to hydrolysis and aging. If peeling has already started, it will usually get worse after cleaning, so please keep this in mind.

3. Storage of uncollected items

Collect on time:When your items are ready, we will send you a text message. Please collect them with your claim ticket within 30 days of the notice, or contact us to arrange delivery.

Late storage fee:From day 31, a storage fee of NT$10–20 per item per day applies to uncollected items (up to 3 months).

Abandonment of ownership:Items not collected more than 6 months after the notice date are considered abandoned by the customer. We may recycle, donate or otherwise dispose of them to free up storage space, and the customer may not object or claim compensation.

4. Checking items at pickup and handling disputes

Check on the spot:When collecting, please check on the spot that the number of items and accessories (e.g. belts, fur collars, liners) are complete, and check the cleaning quality.

Re-cleaning window:If you find an item not fully clean or poorly pressed, bring it back to the shop with your receipt within 3 days of pickup (with our laundry tag still attached and unworn), and we will redo it free of charge.

5. Compensation for loss or damage

We carry liability insurance. If a garment is seriously damaged, deformed or lost due to improper cleaning on our part, compensation follows the Ministry of Economic Affairs' "Mandatory and Prohibited Provisions for Standard Laundry Service Contracts":

  • Regular garments: compensation is a multiple of the item's cleaning price (usually capped at 5 to 20 times, depending on depreciation).
  • Valuable items without a declared value: if the value was not declared in advance and the item did not go through our premium care process, total compensation is capped (e.g. no more than NT$5,000–10,000).

Notes on Special Services

1. Down comforters / large bedding
Please check the bedding's care label when you buy it. Some natural silk and pure wool comforters are dry clean only or must not be washed. We never vacuum-compress animal fibers, to avoid physical damage to fibers and feather quills (down itself can be compressed).

2. Pet items
For hygiene, please remove loose hair and waste from pet clothing and beds before sending them in. We wash pet items separately using pet-specific disinfectant and dedicated machines, so you can send them with peace of mind.
